Fenghuang are mythological birds of East Asia that reign over all other birds. The males are called Feng and the females Huang. In modern times, however, such a distinction of gender is often no longer made and the Feng and Huang are blurred into a single entity. Known in the western world as the "Phoenix Rising," the FengHuang is the auspicious bird rising from the ashes. Amidst COVID-19, Pride ASIA recognizes the tenacity of the Asian and Pacific Islander community as we celebrate API Heritage Month in May, and the resilience of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer + communities as we recognize Pride in June. As we recognize the BLACK LIVES MATTER Movement, please join us in making a donation to BlackLivesSeattle.org and SeattleKingCountyNAACP.org
